Change is good !

Change is good....Right?
This is the first room you come into at the front of our house. I decided to re-arrange it. This end had the hutch and settee and the other end had these chairs. You wouldn't think a simple thing like swapping them out would make such a difference, but it did. Now the room looks so much bigger.

The picture on the wall to the left is an antique piece of fabric, it is all embroidered, all hand stitched, done in velvets. I tried to get a few pictures of it but because of the glass I kept getting a glare. I'm sure if you click on the picture you will be able to see some of the work.

This bottom picture really shows more of the detail. I consider myself fairly patient but I'm not sure I would have the patience to do work like this.

I trust everyone had a nice fathers day....honey got calls from all of the children, and cards of course. Some much needed, boring under garments....tee hee ! AND some replacement parts for his gas stainless grill that he is so proud of. A good day all in all, HOT just like he likes it. Summer is here with a vengeance.....100 in the shade!

I love that fabric piece! When that was made, I'm sure the ladies had very little to do except sit and sew and gossip. It was most likely created by some lady of substance due to the materials used. I would have the patience at times especially during the winter but now in the heat of summer!

I think rearranging furniture is such fun but sadly I seldom do it.

It is fun to change our nest now and then. And your transformation is lovely. I need to do this too. When Arney goes back to work things will get done.
I am so glad that you would want to do these type tags. Have fun!
I used white sheets of card stock and then started adding paper, pictures that I liked all over the cardstock. I used a glue stick, but you can use whatever you like. After each sheet was dry, I turned it over to the back of the sheet and traced the tag size I wanted. I didn't want to see the collaged side because then it would not be random. And then if I thought it needed something, I would put it on. I made 200, but I still have to put the string and buttons on most of them.
100 will go for tagging at the sale for church. The others will be sold at the sale. I haven't shown these to the girls at church, I hope they like them.
Keeping you both in my prayers, Mary

That velvet embroidered picture is fabulous. What skill and what patience! I would like to try and draw it if I have your permission. Not to sell. I don't sell anything. Just enjoy drawing. Blessings, Gail.

So fun to peek into your cottage. The decor is so cozy and beautiful! Rearranging can be such a lot of work (and you find the most awful dust), but worth it when you flop down and take a look around. : D
