The Thirsty Soul

This art work is called Springtime of Life, about 1870 and was done by a french artist, Jean-Baptiste-Camille Corot. It is an oil on canvas, 41 3/8x 29 3/8.

I remember Thee and Meditate on Thee.

Along with prayer and reading God's Word, we should strive to center our thoughts on Him day and night. Remembering God must not be an occasional occurrence, but a repeated experience of looking unto heaven in praise, acknowledging His presence and lordship, and communing with Him. Nothing would be better than that our first thought in the morning and our last thought at night be on His grace, character, love, and plan for us. And when we find it impossible to sleep during the night, we can again turn our minds and hearts to God.

O GOD, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is; To see thy power and thy glory, so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary. Because thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee. Thus will I bless thee while I live: I will lift up my hands in thy name. My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness; and my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips: When I remember thee upon my bed, and meditate on thee in the night watches. Because thou has been my help, therefore in the shadow of thy wings will I rejoice. My soul followeth hard after thee: thy right hand upholdeth me. PSALMS 63, 1-8

I found your blog this morning and have enjoyed browsing thru it.

This post is beautiful. 3 of my favorite verses are 1 Thes 5:16-18, and they follow the same theme.
Rejoice always. Pray without ceasing. In everything give thanks, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.

I'll bookmark and check back! Have a blessed day.
